Richard Eddy passed peacefully at home on June 2, 2018. Born September 7, 1931 in Newport, OH to Clarence and Mary Eddy, Richard was the middle child of nine brothers and two sisters.

He graduated from Newport High School in 1950 then enlisted in the Air Force where he obtained the rank of E-5 and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. While traveling through Yuma as a young airman, he met his beloved wife Margie with whom he spent 63 beautiful years before her passing in 2016.

Richard and Margie owned and operated the Tip Top Drive-In on 4th Ave and 2nd Street from 1960-1965. He then ran the Atlantic-Ritchfield Gas Station on 4th Ave and 3rd Street until he went to work at Yuma Proving Ground where he retired after 25 years.

The most important thing to Richard was family and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored him. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Everyone knew Richard could fix anything - whether it was a rusty lawn mower, a crying baby or a delicious meal.

He attended Immanuel Southern Baptist Church.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife Margie, his parents, eight brothers, two sisters, Daughter Rhonda Eddy and Granddaughter Dana Crosby-Hunt.

He is survived by his children Rick (Susan) Eddy, Denise (Stephen) Wegner and Tim (Angela) Eddy; brother Wayne Eddy; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

I am so sorry for the pain of loss that you all are going through. Your Dad was always so nice to us. I always felt Uncle Dick was the coolest Uncle ever! He taught my Mom (and me, as a teen) how to make restaurant quality hamburgers. We had the best burgers from that time on!! We were so proud to have an Uncle who owned a restaurant. Uncle Dick & Aunt Marge were beautiful people. I know that you all are heart broken. Love and prayers as you go through this hard time of loss. Peggy & Family
