Richard was born on September 5th, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona to Felix and Lupe Olague. He was in the first graduating class of Kofa High School in 1959. He moved to Mountain View, California where he did maintenance work for about 10 years. Richard brought his family back to Yuma and began working as a plumber. He co-founded Sun Power Plumbing Inc. in 1975 alongside his coworker and good friend, Murl McCain. Richard was a master plumber and served as the corporation’s Secretary and Treasurer. He also became Vice President until his retirement in 2012. Richard was happily married to Ramona Olague for 38 wonderful years.
He enjoyed the simple things in life such as taking a stroll through his favorite hardware store and watching the Weather Channel. Another of his hobbies included riding his motorcycle. He loved to travel and always preferred to be outdoors. He was a hard-working man and was very devoted to his family. Richard was an active member of his beloved church Templo Betel Assemblies of God, in which he also proudly served as repairman.
Richard is survived by his wife, Ramona Olague of Yuma, AZ; Daughters, Lydia (Steve) Patane of Yuma, AZ; Rita (Greg Fell) Olague of Yuma, AZ; Debbie (Ben) Avenenti of Yuma, AZ; and Sylvia (Ben) Collins of Yuma, AZ; Son, Sergio (Ana Ly) Quinones of Yuma, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; and Brother, Fernando Olague of Tucson, AZ.
He was a well-respected, caring person who touched many lives. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A funeral service for Richard will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A burial will occur at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 South 1st Ave, Yuma, Arizona 85364.
