Sharon Kay Mitchell

Sharon K. Mitchell (née Halterman), 67, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Yuma, AZ. She was born March 10, 1947 in Lincoln, NE. Sharon retired from YRMC. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working in her yard, long drives in the Jeep, and doing crossword puzzles. Sharon was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be truly missed by all.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Dean Mitchell of Yuma, AZ; daughter, Rhonda Rodriguez (Billy) of Cottonwood, AZ; son, Thomas Mitchell (Robin) of O'Fallon, IL; sister, Sally Peoples of Omaha, NE; brothers, Gary Halterman of Dallas, TX, Mike Halterman of Lubbock, TX, and Russ Halterman of Augusta, ME; 7 grandchildren, Justin Wilkerson, Joseph Rodriguez, Kaylee Sangster, Samantha Rangel, Hallee Mitchell, Tomi Lynn Rodriguez, Savannah Bernal; 5 great grandchildren, Alana Rodriguez, Trent Wilkerson, Nevaeh Ruiz, Jaiden Ruiz, Marlee Sangster. Sharon was preceded in death by daughter, Bobbie Jo Bernal; mother, Violet Halterman; father, William Halterman; sister, Donna Loehr; and brothers, Bill Halterman, Ronnie Halterman, Everett Halterman, Harold Halterman, and Bobby Halterman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Mitchell's residence. Memorial donations can be made in Sharon's name to a Cancer Research charity of your choice.
