Susana Sofia Clay

Susana Sofia “G.G.” Madero Clay, 93, peacefully left this life Saturday, August 2, 2014 with her family by her side. Susana was born Wednesday, August 11th, 1920 in Miami, AZ. After graduating from Yuma High, Susana moved to Los Angeles, CA where she worked and retired from Rancho Los Amigos Hospital as a Nurse. After retirement Susana returned to Yuma where she lived the remainder of her life. Susana enjoyed spending time with friends and family; and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

Susana was preceded in death by her husband, Fred and daughters, Patricia Madero, Patricia Clay. She is survived by her daughter, Renee (Charles) Hudiburgh; granddaughters, Patricia (Barry) Abrams, and Janet (David) Cisneros; great grandsons, Fred and Jack Whitson, Jacob, Adam, Aiden, and Austin Cisneros; brother, Carlos Madero; sisters, Socorro Uraine and Priscilla Cano. Susana was lovingly known as aunt Sofie to numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Sunday, August 10th from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm, followed by the Rosary. Funeral services will be at Immaculate Conception Church on August 11th at 10:30 am, followed by the interment at the Yuma Pioneer Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Gilbert Rivera, Frank Wheeler, Donald Roberson, Jacob Cisneros, Fred and Jack Whitson. Honorary Pallbearers are, Juan and Frank Madero, Joseph Wheeler, Anthony Zenzola, Jason Mendivil, Raymond, Ronald Roberson, Patrick Cano, William Roberson and Michael Madero.

Refreshments will be served Sunday, August 10, 2014 evening in the hospitality room at Johnson Mortuary and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be at the Hampton Inn Monday, August 11, 2014 immediately after the burial.
