Vicky was born to John Garcia Montaña and Petra Amparano on March 14, 1926 in Andrade, Imperial Co., California. Vicky passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, she was 89 and 1 day. Vicky met Tony R. Alcala in Yuma, Arizona and they married January 10, 1942; to this union came their son, Antonio A. Alcala and daughter, Linda Alcala Jenkins. Vicky loved Bingo and was also known as "Baby" by her Bingo family at The Cocopah and The Paradise Casinos.
Vicky was proceeded in death by her father, John; mother, Petra; husband, Tony; son, Tony; brothers, Oscar Montaña, Ernie Montaña, Rey Rivera, Peter Montaña. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Alcala Jenkins; son-in-law, Jim Jenkins of Yuma; grand-daughters, Denise Alcala Fields and Kimberly Alcala of Bangor, Maine; grandsons, Anthony S. Ramsaier of Camarillo, California, Joel A. Jenkins of Ypsilanti, Michigan; great granddaughters, Jackqueline Jenkins, Briana Jenkins, Jena Jenkins, Lauren Jenkins all of Michigan, Leah Victoria Ramsaier of Camarillo, California; great grandsons, Tony R. Alcala ll of Boston, Massachusetts , Doc River Fields of Maine Tyler Freitas of Michigan; great-great grandson, James Henderson; great-great granddaughter, Lily Graham; sisters, Dora Montaña Harper of Utah, Annabelle (Joel Martinez) Montaña Hernandez of Yuma, Arizona, Juanita Montaña Owen of Scottsdale, Arizona; brothers, John Montaña of Huntsville, Alabama, Charles William "Billy" Montaña of Yuma, Arizona, Richard Collins of Tucson, Arizona; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Our family has been in Yuma since 1800's, Vicky had a large family.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 225 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma.
