Virginia Lee Pierson at age 88 passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2011 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Phoenix. She was born May 26, 1922 in Voss, Texas.
Virginia graduated from Yuma High School in 1939 and lived in Yuma for 86 years. She was an escrow officer at Lawyers Title and Citizen Title and Trust. She was a member of Nazarene Church and the Pilot Club. She loved playing the organ at home and at church. She enjoyed taking care of her family, babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a collector of china and tea cups with roses on them.
Virginia is survived by her son, L. Warren "Porky" Pierson; daughter-in-law, Beth Pierson on Tacna; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Virginia was preceded in death by husband, Warren "Happy" Pierson and son, Marvin Pierson.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Saturday March 19, 2011 at 9:00a.m. with services starting at 10:00a.m. Virginia's final resting place will be Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Chad Pierson, Shonda Hart, Kaulinda Pierson, Raylee Pierson, Jacob Pierson, Lyndsey Pierson.
Honorary pallbearers are Jaime Pierson, Nicholas Pierson, Sterling Miller.

Virginia Lee Pierson, 88, of Yuma, died March 10, 2011, in Phoenix.
She was born May, 26, 1922, in Voss, Texas, and was an escrow officer.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Desert Lawn Memorial Park - Garden of Devotion.
