We always loved visiting with him.  He would tell stories about his life with a twinkle in his eye. 
My favorite picture of him was taken at the old homestead in San Bruno California where my mom and auntie grew up as young girls. He had held up his big hedge clippers and put his head in them with a silly face. That was him I think. Skillful with his chosen tools and lighthearted enough to laugh while using them.
Rest well. Looking forward to meeting you again in a world where your pruning shears will be of good use..as well your kindly wisdom and knowledge.

My father-in-law Mac was one of a kind.  You had to laugh at his requests for details in any undertaking that you told him about.  He wanted to know the minutest detail of your trip (vacation, business, etc.) even to showing him on the map where you went.  We did some family vacations together in the early years and it was always pretty fun and funny.  I still laugh when I think of our men only fishing trip to Lake Berryessa, him, his dad Pop McClelland, Dave and myself.  We stayed in army tents and he and pop slept on army cots. I'm sure Churchy would still smile in remembering all that went wrong on that trip. But Mac took it all in stride.  He tolerated two young sons-in-law who were pretty wet bhind the ears and he probably laughed through the tears. All fond memories.  I will look forward to seeing him in the resurrection, restored to a vigorous young man.  Larry P. Butte

"Mac" was a complete fisherman, every fish he caught cost about $12.00 an ounce based on his collection of lures, flys, rods,& reels. He was the family "camping man" every summer making certain his girls suffered in comfort for two weeks. Losing his wife Kay, the mother of his two daughters after a long struggle to cancer was almost to much to bare.

Moving to Yuma with his second wife, Lorretta  he told his daughter Sharon he wanted to die in Yuma with is boots on. He sold his boots, but stayed inYuma.

Grandpa Mac's analytical mind and love of details was always a source of amazement to us.  His memory for the smallest details, whether how many stoplights there were on your drive to work or the number of minutes and the route you drove to the Kingdom Hall, his keen mind did not forget a thing.  We will miss him.

 My dad had a long,interesting life with his talent as a terrific drummer thanks to his parents and his encouragement for me to enjoy music, sharon and I will miss him and love him forever. For those who would like to know a little about my dad he came to San francisco in 1936 with his new bride,my mother,and never went back to Ohio. His occupation was being an accountant until his retirement. After his first wife died in 1977 he remarried in 1978 to Loretta (Anderson) McClelland    Dad was an only child to Garfield and Grace McClelland. Survived by 2 daughters Beverly Butte (LARRY) of Auburn,California, Sharon Churchey (David) of Carson City,Nevada, 5 grandchildren,8 great grandchildren and 1 great,great grandchild.
