William Lon Ferguson

William Lon Ferguson, 64 years old, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer, at home with his sisters present. He was born November 3, 1950 in Fort Dix, New Jersey to George C. (Tex) and Rita Jane Ferguson. William graduated from Yuma High School in 1969 and served in the U.S. Navy six years. He was in construction for 21 years and he was a residential inspector with the City of Yuma for the last 8 years. William loved to build, dance, laugh, and to make others laugh. His life was filled with many roles: son, brother, uncle, husband, step-father, great uncle, and a friend to many.

William is survived by sisters, Sarah Phillips (Larry), Rose Ferguson, and Cathey Jo Bernard (Dick); brothers, Mike Ferguson (Claudia), and George Ferguson (Maryann). He is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews, Charlie, Amy, Drew, Jule Ann, Joseph, Scott, Jacob, Matthew, Meredith, and Casey Jayne; great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen (1977), father, George C. “Tex” (1998); and mother, Rita Jane Ferguson (1996).
