Our beloved Bill, who entered this world as a gift to us from our Loving God on December 12, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, completed the round-trip part of his journey and returned back home to his Father God by passing away peacefully in his sleep on June 5, 2026.
Bill spent his early years in St. Louis, attending both grammar and secondary school there. He was a cradle St. Louis sports fan, which led to his career as an usher for all three St. Louis Professional teams: The St. Louis Cardinals Football Team, the St. Louis Blues Hockey Team, and his favorite of the three, the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team at Busch Stadium.
Bill also volunteered his off-the-job time to greeting and ushering at St. Louis municipal softball games, which led to his receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award and being inducted into The St. Louis Softball Hall of Fame.
He married Susan Brent in 1976, who gave birth to their son, James in 1978. The three of them moved to Yuma in December of 1985. They were very active parishioners at St. Francis of Assisi, where James attended school. Bill was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Yuma Council 9378. The Knights presented Bill with a "Tireless Community Support" award in 1991 for coaching Little League baseball and advocating for a City of Yuma Bus system.
Bill's wife Susan predeceased him in 1986. He is survived by his son, James, and daughter-in-law, Breanna, and grandson, Damien who now live in Wichita, KS.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to everyone at Paradise Cove Nursing Home who cared affectionately and proficiently for Bill these past few years.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated for Bill at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Yuma at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 20, 2026 followed by Interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park .
