Steven Mark Dietrich, age 59, departed this life on January 17, 2021. He was a graduate of Coopersville High School and proudly served in the US Navy as a machinist for four years. He owned and operated Midway Heating in Conklin and was former owner of Conklin Party and Video Store. If there was a need in the community, Steve would be one of the first to step up and help. He had been a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church in Wright and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4404 in Conklin. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Virginia (Naylor) Dietrich and brother-in-law, Terry Kamps.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Turner; granddaughters Brianna and McKenzie; son, Scott, and daughter-in-law, Rachael, and his grandson Cameron. Also surviving is Steve's daughter, Sarah; siblings Jerry (Laurie), Chuck (Chris), Fred (Trishia), Carl (Jen), Marilyn (Dick) Momber, and Janice Kamps; and best friends Bill and Mary Alt.
He loved to hunt, fish, ride quads, and snowmobile at his cabin on Big Star Lake.
Special thanks to Roy Kline at R-K Mechanical and everyone who helped Steve during this difficult time. Because of the COVID pandemic, no services are being planned at this time and cremation will take place. Once the virus has been conquered, a memorial celebration will be held in his honor. The family requests and would appreciate memorials in his honor to be made to Spectrum Hospice, 750 Fuller NE, Grand Rapids, Ml 49503 or Georgetown/Cambridge Manor, 141 Port Sheldon Road, Grandville, Ml 49418.
