June Rachel McCoury

June Rachel McCoury, age 86, of Auburn Hills, died Sunday, January 17, 2021, surrounded by her family at the Independence Village of White Lake. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Mack; her four sons: Stephen (Janice) McCoury, Scott (Terry) McCoury, Todd McCoury, and Dan (Kalli) McCoury; her eight grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren.

June was born March 16, 1934, in Caro, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Aloys and Cecile (Huffman) Schledorn. She and Henry Mack McCoury were married on September 18, 1954, in Troy. June worked as a bank teller at Pontiac State Bank until her first child was born, after which she became a stay-at-home mom. She was a valued member of the congregation at Auburn Hills Presbyterian Church for over thirty years.

In her free time, June could be found watching the birds, spending time outdoors, or working on her crafts. She also loved to travel, and held fond memories of her trips to the Netherlands, New England, Missouri, and New Orleans. June loved to host her famous outdoor parties during the summer time, where her extended family and friends would spend time together. She valued her time with her loved ones greatly; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! She loved to watch them have fun in the pool every summer and was always cheering them on at their sporting events. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by many.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Aloys and Cecile; and her brother, Richard.

Due to capacity limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, June's family has decided to have a small private service. Cremation will follow. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions in June’s name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
