Adolf was born in St. Louis, MO on August 17, 1924. At age 18, while a freshman at the University of Missouri, he was drafted into active duty in Germany where he served with the fighting 69th infantry division until the end of the war. He then resumed his studies, earning a BS in Electrical Engineering.
He met the love of his life, Barbara Donlan in 1953 and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. 64 of those years were spent living in Sudbury, MA. He worked as an electrical engineer in the private sector for 20 years and then as a civilian instructor for Army intelligence for 20 years. Adolf was a Mason and member of the American Legion. He marched from Sudbury to Concord every Patriots day for 20 years as a member of the Sudbury Minute and Militia. He was a charter member of Bridges, an intergenerational program in the Sudbury schools. He spent 10 years as a member of the Sudbury Historical Commission and attended the Memorial Congregational Church.
He leaves his devoted wife Barbara of Sudbury. His son Gary and Gary’s beloved Kimble Greene of North Yarmouth ME. His daughter Karen Brown of Pepperell, MA. His daughter Kim Bahlkow of Manchester, NH. Seven grand children, Ashley and her husband Dan, Sophie, Richard, Darcy and her husband Isaac, Stephanie, Max and Matthew. Two great grandsons, Cedar and Skylar, a dear sister-in-law Betty Barton, and many loved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother Marie Streider , his father Adolf M Bahlkow and his brother Hank.
