Ronaldo “Ronnie” Iracheta Alegria, 52, of Baytown, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2021. He was born in McAllen, Texas to Manuel and Leonor Alegria on January 26, 1969. He was a Robert E. Lee High School graduate, Class of 1987. On August 15, 1987, Ronnie would marry his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Barrientes. Professionally, Ronnie worked 19 years with ExxonMobil, as a HSK Process Day Supervisor and Hydrocarbon Control Practices Coordinator. He was also a member of the ExxonMobil Fire Team 11 and Hazmat Team. Prior to being employed with ExxonMobil, Ronnie worked for Celanese for three years and Kroger for 15 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a cancer survivor of 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to the gun range. He loved attending Astros and Texans games with family and friends, but he was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved attending and volunteering for ExxonMobil events like Relay for Life and Habitat for Humanity. His favorite of all was grilling in his driveway and dancing at family gatherings, but what he loved the most was walking his two dogs, Max and Lucas.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Florencio and Martha Alegria and Tiofilo and Desideria Iracheta; his mother, Leonor Alegria; and his father-in-law, Jesus Barrientes. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kathryn Alegria; their children, Manuel Alegria, Ronaldo Alegria, Jr. and wife Megan Dupuis, Aaron Alegria, Madison Alegria and Joshua Fagala, and Katlyn Alegria; grandchildren, Ryan Alegria, Leo Alegria and expecting his first granddaughter; father, Manuel Alegria and wife, Juana; sister, Miladila Flores and husband, Eduardo; mother-in-law, Delores Barrientes; brother and sister-in-laws; Timothy Barrientes and wife, Leslie, Rodney Barrientes, Jesus Barrientes II, Meredith Perez and husband, Joel, Alison Medina and husband, Mike, and Melanie Delgado and husband, David; and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and family.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, with Fr. Terence P. Brinkman, S.T.D. as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Gabe Watton, Kirk Shugart, Derrick Smalley, Joey Brosh, Martin Sorola, Larry Martinez, David Wells, and Bien “Beaner” Sambilay. Honorary pallbearers are his sons and grandsons.
The family asks that everyone wear a mask and remember to follow social distancing guidelines at all times at the viewing, service and internment. The family loves and appreciates you all and would like to wrap their arms around each of you for celebrating Ronnie’s life, but due to COVID, they ask that you feel their love and gratitude from a distance and, please, accept their no contact hugs for their safety and yours.
