Funeral services for Thomas William Lackey, 80, of Munford, will be Sunday February 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Shannon Caudle and Bro. Johnny Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm before the service.
Mr. Lackey passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at home.
Mr. Lackey is survived by his wife Nelda Faye Lackey of 56 years; daughters, Tammy Lackey; son, Wayne Lackey (Reba); siblings, Donald Lackey, Lendsay Mayo (Larcus), Francis Mayo (Jerry), Ruby Green, Bill Lackey (Beth), and Burl Lackey.
Mr. Lackey is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and RosaLee Lackey and brother, Ray Lackey.
Pallbearers are Jeff Fuller, Billy Brooks, Bill Lackey, John David Roberson, Stanley Mayo and Curt Mayo. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Hale, Walter Reaves, Horace Ponder and Red Hale.
Mr. Lackey was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He retired as a carpenter from Hale Building. He was recognized for 25 years membership in the carpenters local. He enjoyed college football especially Alabama Football.
Mr. Lackey was a member of Patton’s Chapel Church. What he loved most was his family, working with his hands and spending time outdoors. He was a good husband and father. He will be greatly missed.
