She was born in the country of Latvia to Karlis and Alma (Sturis) Lincis. Jackie was the second of their three children. She grew up on a farm with her sister Erna (Lincis) Strelis and brother Andris Lincis. During the latter part of WWII they left their home to get away from the war and come to America. Along the way, they ended up in DP Camps but eventually went to Germany. There they stayed for five years before coming to the United States where they became citizens.
Jackie was the loving wife to the late Gene “Joe” Basile. The couple lived in Roslindale for a few years before moving to Norwood where they raised their nine children.
She leaves behind: Linda and her husband Kevin Moriarty, Joseph, Christopher and his wife Deborah Ryan, Jean, Marjorie, Marie, Rocky, Laura and her husband Brian Olson, and Barbara and her husband Michael Lawrie. She had fourteen grandchildren; Jennifer, Melissa, Kevin, Rocky, Lija, Darius, Samantha, Darryl, Andrea, Elizabeth, Jake, Katherine, Luke, and Maximillian, and seven great-grandchildren; Isaiah, Connor, Riley, Cooper, Elijah, Penelope and Bennett. She also leaves behind her four nieces; Rita, Rosemarie, Silvia and Dorothy, a nephew John and extended family.
While raising her family, Jackie took night courses to learn bookkeeping/accounting so she could assist with all the finances associated with her husband’s tile business. She worked various jobs in her lifetime and retired from N&D Insurance Company. She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church where she was a member of the Women’s Group. Jackie participated in morning masses followed by coffee with friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends including trips to Alaska and Italy. She enjoyed the arts; going to musicals, the POPs, the theatre and the Boston Ballet. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, having family gatherings and most importantly her children. Jackie especially enjoyed being a grandmother.
Funeral services and burial at Highland Cemetery in Norwood will be private.
