Alvin Herbert Theut, age 86, of Elk Rapids, Michigan passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Munson Hospice House. Alvin was born November 17, 1934 in Shelby Twp. MI. to Edwin and R. Josephine (Callewaert) Theut.
Alvin is survived by his children; Kimberly (Charles) Morrison, Cindy (John) Bailey, David (Denise), Julie (Bob) Whisnant, Mary Sue Prantera, Tim (Beth), Jeff, Chris (Sandy) and Janelle (Daryl) Putla. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife Mary Ann in 1989, second wife Glenda in 2015, grandson Anthony Prantera in 2010, and son-in-law Mark Prantera in 2009.
Alvin was also a veteran of the US Navy.
Alvin owned and operated several businesses in his lifetime including Theut Products, Inc. and Keweenaw Berry Farms. After retirement, Alvin enjoyed canning and baking for his family and friends and especially for his friends at Noble Pines. Alvin's hobbies included hunting, woodworking, bird watching, berry picking and watching football. He loved spending time with family and friends, telling stories and being a practical joker.
A spring burial will be held at Chassell Cemetery.
