Passed away peacefully on Feb 8, 2021 at the age of 91 to join the love of his life Mary (Fraser) Baxter for their eternal dance. He was the youngest of five, born to James Farmer Baxter and Maggie Partner. He was predeceased by brother, Sidney; sisters, Marjorie, Hazel and Amelia.
He is survived by his son, James (Carole); daughter, Ann (Geoff); granddaughters, Cassandra (Josh), Elizabeth (Wesley) and great-granddaughter, Blake.
He was a retired employee of Volvo Canada Manufacturing Plant and a member of Canadian Management Accounts. A 55-year member of Woodlawn United Church and an active skater into his 80’s with the Halifax Bedford Senior Skaters Club.
His favorite role was being a grandfather and ran “Grandad’s taxi service” to his girls for many years. He provided his granddaughters with financial advice, how to grow tomatoes and build stuff. He was always present at graduations, cheerleading, rugby, and whatever special celebration was going on. He was a kind gentle soul and a man of few words, but we all knew how proud and how loved we were through his actions.
In accordance with dad’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
