Bobbie was preceded in death by her father Orlando Petrone , her mother Irene LaPira,
her step father Paul LaPira, and her sister Shirley LoRusso.
She is survived by her roommate and best friend for over 65 years Mary E. (Mick) Henderson.
Bobbie had a very successful Navy career that spanned 27 years. She was extremely intelligent and organized and that was demonstrated by the fact she was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in under eight years. That was rare, and even more so as a female. The first eight years of her Navy career she was a Cryptologist (CT). The Navy phased women out of cryptology in 1963 and Bobbie was transferred to Radioman and attended Radioman A and B school. Her last duty station was Command Career Counselor for NAS, Pensacola, FL. She retired from the Navy as a Master Chief Radioman. Bobbie was very artistic and when she retired from the navy she dabbled in all sorts of art forms from wood collages to stained glass. She decided she wanted to go back to work and went to work at NAS, Pensacola Supply Department and managed the Serve Mart Store until she retired again. After Retirement she volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital, Mother Seton Guild, and worked in the gift shop for over fourteen years. Bobbie enjoyed cooking, and made the best pasta sauce ever, but her true love was baking. She loved to bake for others and almost always put her own twist on a recipe. We will all miss her sour cream pound cake. Bobbie loved her church family and her wonderful neighbors and the many wonderful friends she made along the way. She will be truly missed by all her many friends.
