After a long and well-fought battle, Michael Thomas Swol is finally resting peacefully. Born on March 16th, 1974 in Rochester, NY, Michael embraced the St. Patrick’s day spirit and liveliness throughout his life and always loved that the world always threw a parade for him the day after his birthday.
His larger-than-life spirit captured the heart of his surviving wife, Winter Swol, and she remained by his side for over 22 years. While preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his beloved dog Fezik, his youth ensured that at his passing on February 11, 2021, there are many who will mourn the loss of his light for a very long time.
Beyond his wife Winter, Michael is survived by his adoring niece Taliya; his amazing parents, Lawrence and Kathy Swol; his brother and family, Steven and Caysi Swol; nephews, Matt and Lane; his godmother Sue Olas; his loving in-laws Debra, Summer, and Carl; many other aunts, uncles and cousins; and a plethora of friends who kept his social calendar full.
Following COVID guidelines for attendance, the family will have a visitation to remember Michael on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at McEwen Myers Park, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
Michael is also leaving behind his amazing dog Chui, although Winter is appreciative that Chui will remain by her side. Michael was a force of nature with a large heart who loved everyone. He will eternally be missed.
