William D. Morrow, 86, always wanted to leave this earth after he birdied the 18th hole, but instead he passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his bride of 60 years, Janice, the love of his life. He will be sorely missed by his children Jill (Lyle) Mikolajewski, Bill (Leslie) Morrow, Bob (Cindy) Morrow & Tom (Dawn) Morrow, 10 Grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Nicole, Lisa, Kristina, Kellie, Danielle, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Jessica, 5 Great-Grandchildren and countless friends, nieces & nephews.
He lived life with great zest and abandon! He and Jan, long time Lisle residents, also enjoyed their retirement years in Lady Lake, FL before moving back to the area. Bill had an amazing work ethic, both as a butcher and later as a truck driver. At Hinsdale High School, he was a star football & baseball player. He never met a stranger, was the life of any party, an ace practical joker and considered rules only vague guidelines! Known as 'the Salsa Critic,' he loved a good party, listening to country music and watching the Cubbies or old westerns. “Walleye Willie” loved to fish and was an avid golfer with 3 hole-in-ones to his credit! He passed along his love of the great Northwoods and the National Parks out West onto his family with many vacations in their Jayco camper! He also enjoyed many trips to Jamaica with his beloved Jan. Once through the Pearly Gates, he will be anxious to light up a Pall Mall, grab a toddy (don't skimp on the ice!) and find his dancing partner Jan. He will no doubt be looking for a party with those he has dearly missed, where he can stir up some heavenly shenanigans!
Memorial Visitation Saturday, July 31, 2021, 9:00 AM until time of Memorial Service 11:00 AM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home 5015 Lincoln Avenue, Lisle, Illinois 60532.
