Christine Elizabeth Ebert, 82, of Rockford, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Born December 21, 1938 in Rockford. Daughter of Faye and Ella (Dahlgren) Baxter.
United in marriage to Henry Theodore Ebert on January 17, 1959. He predeceased her on July 11, 2002. In her younger years she worked as a Bookkeeper for Piggly Wiggly. She took her love of antiquing and opened a store where she owned and operated Chris’ Antiques for 40 years. In her spare time she loved antiquing giving new life to old things from buttons to old trucks, traveling to Florida and playing cards. She spent time with her husband and grandkids most weekends.
Survived by her daughters, Kelly Darden, Cammy (Gordy) Cushman; grandchildren, Justin Darden, Randall (Maija) Darden, Alayna (Jeff) Matschke, Piper (Mason) Crosby, Seth Cushman; great-granddaughter, Rowen Matschke; sister, Bonita (Harry) Porter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents; spouse; brothers, Mark Baxter and Jack Baxter.
Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 19 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation at noon until time of service.
