Lois is preceded in death by her husband Anders Theodore, daughter Karen Lambert
(Greg), and sons Anders Theodore Jr. (Debra) and Gary (Laura). Lois is survived by her
daughter Linda Ayers (Tim), sisters Shirley McClellan and Marjorie Peterson,
sister-in-law Inga Trestrail, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several
nieces and nephews.
Lois was devoted to her family. She always focused on life's positives even in the face
of great loss. Lois was born and raised in Evanston, IL, and graduated from Evanston
Township Highschool. During World War II Lois worked at Fort Meade, near
Washington, DC, for Military Intelligence. Following the end of the War, she returned to
Evanston and met and married the love of her life, Andy Nelson. Lois and Andy were
happily married for almost 50 years and spending time with family was their greatest joy.
While raising her family Lois worked for 23 years as an Administrator at the American
Academy of Pediatrics in Evanston, IL and Elk Grove Village, IL.
In 2000, she moved to Schaumburg, IL, where she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and
celebrating her Swedish heritage. She was greatly adored by her family and friends.
Lois will be remembered for her enduring sense of humor and eternal optimism. A family
memorial service will be held later this summer. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery,
Skokie, IL.
