Eric David Seiley, age 73 passed away in Lone Tree, CO at Skyridge Medical Center from complications of COVID-19. Eric “Rick” Seiley was born February 23, 1947 in Boston, MA to Henry Hamilton Seiley III and Frances (Batho) Seiley. He was raised in Lake Charles, LA where he attended McNeese University and graduated with a BA in Business Management. He married Carol (Homer) Seiley on June 1st, 1967. He served at the Lake Charles Police Department as a Patrolman and a Juvenile Detective. He also served at the Santa Cruz Police Department in 1981as a Patrolman, a Field Training Officer, and a Detective. He then went on to retire as a Sergeant in 2000. Rick also served in the U.S. Navy and left his service as an E-5. While in the service he was on the U.S.S. Wasp, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, and the Meritorious Service Medal.
Rick was a faithful servant of the Lord and spent many hours studying the bible. He was known as a protector and mentor, was loyal, compassionate, generous, and caring with a great sense of humor. He was a “good ole boy.” He will surely be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, daughter Pam Seiley of Denver, son Eric S. Seiley (Melody) of Scotts Valley, CA, and son Joel Seiley of Highlands Ranch. Grandchildren Kyle Butler, Paige Butler, Olivia Seiley, and Grace Seiley and great grandson Emory Butler as well as three sisters and two brothers. He was preceded in death by parents Henry and Frances Seiley. His ashes will be interred at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
