Loving father to Joanna & Dean Loebach and Stephanie Premock. Companion and partner to Celeste Courneya (as well as fur-baby Lola) and proud Grandpa to Eric and Rigby. Steve will be remembered in the hearts of his sisters, Margaret MacPherson and Linda Simchison and their families. He is predeceased by his wife Cathy Premock (nee Steele) and his parents Steve and Tena Premock.
Born and raised on his parents’ farm in Waterford, Ontario, Steve was the youngest of the Premock siblings. Growing up he played high school football, drums and was a foundering member of the Moose Heights downhill ski club in Collingwood, Ontario. He attended Western University and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering before moving to Cambridge, Ontario to start a lengthy career at Babcock & Wilcox Canada Ltd. One of Steve’s proudest accomplishments was the complete restoration of a 1932 Packard Coupe. An experience he and his father, Steve Sr. lovingly completed over a 10-year period sourcing parts from all over the continent.
Steve lived in Crawley, UK and Shanghai, China for a decade before retiring and returning to his rural roots in Norfolk County. He enjoyed every minute of his 16 years in Long Point. Whether fishing in the inner bay on his boat, sitting on his back deck enjoying cocktails while the sunset or hosting his annual lobster boil with his daughters, this truly was his happy place. Steve will be remembered by those closest to him for his big heart, his interesting and informed views on any and all topics and the love he had for nature and his family.
Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life by family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Steve’s memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
