She was born February 18, 1946 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was married to Elfego "Al" Lopez and raised three children Elfego, Miguel, and Patricia until his passing in January 16,1987. She then remarried Mark A. Sandwick until her passing.
She was an avid quilter, seamstress and in her professional career she was a successful business owner in a business that she and her late husband started. She retired early and spent her time quilting which was her passion, and traveling between her two residences in Lemmon, South Dakota and Kearny, Arizona where she spent the biggest part of her adult life. She was member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny, Arizona. She would also work part time in Adult care facility with crafts and working in the kitchen in Lemmon, South Dakota.
She is survived by her husband Mark A. Sandwick of Lemmon, South Dakota/Kearny, Arizona, her children Elfego R. Lopez and his wife Shari Fransen-Lopez, Miguel A. Lopez and his wife Elizabeth Acosta-Villalobos, Patricia M. Lopez Coleman and her husband Kenneth "Dino" Coleman. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Alexandria Lopez, David Coleman, Chelsea Lopez, Aubri Lopez, Rebecca Coleman, and Alicia Lopez, and three great grandchildren Jayden "JJ" Francis, Paisleigh "Peanut" Varney and Alessandra Barbara Peraza. She is also survived by her brothers Lupe Garcia and Christopher Sanchez(Marianne), Sister Geraldine Lovato(Peter).
In addition to her husband Elfego "Al" Lopez she was predeceased by her father Ezequiel Garcia and mother Margarita Maldonado, her sister Patricia "Patsy" Romero, and brother Enrique "Rick" Garcia.
