Linda Susan Hemphill-Green passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, February 15, 2021, after a 3 year-long battle with ALS. She touched many lives with her loving and nurturing nature and will be missed by all.
Linda was born in Santa Maria, California on September 5, 1950 to Gloria Irene Albertine Johnson and the late Alan Edwin Johnson. Linda attended Andrew P. Hill High School as part of the graduating class of 1968. In 1967, Linda married her high school sweetheart the late Warren Glenn Hemphill. Throughout her life Linda has had many different titles that she loved: being a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and a friend. In August of 2001, she married her new love Paul “Gene” Green in Lake Tahoe, California where two families became one. All her life, she was a very strong independent woman who’s love of her family was very important to her. Linda always gave 100% to her family and those she cared for. Her love was unconditional. Linda loved going to music concerts with her husband, camping with her family, her job, and an overall love for life. She was one of a kind.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Paul “Gene” Green, her mother Gloria Johnson, her siblings: Mario Johnson and his wife Denise, Jesse Johnson and his wife Delores, and Debbie Johnson. She is also survived by her children: James Hemphill and his wife Dawn, Jason Hemphill, Michelle Tingley and her husband Chris, and Gene Green and his wife Talena Anderson. Her grandchildren: John Tingley, Jeffery Hemphill, Marissa Hemphill, Catrina Hemphill, and Joshua Hemphill, Josiah Hemphill, Malena Anderson, Sarah Green, and Zachary Green, as well as her great grandchildren: Hailey Anderson, Dylan Rodriguez, James Mello III, Arabella Coria, and Maximus Mello. She will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure to have known her.
