Born July 17, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to Lester C. and Ruby (Davis) Plymale, he married Connie Gene Howard on June 12, 1965 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Christine (Marcus) Parker of Pekin; one son, Steven (Racheal) Plymale of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Brittany), Brandon, Kaylee, Taylor, Lester, Marki, Lindsey; one brother, Jeff (Teresa) Plymale of Sunnyland; three sisters, Darlene Osborn of Peoria, Muriel Ary of Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Linda Lowe of Peoria; and life long friends, Melvin (Mary) Durre of Leesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren Jerry and Jordan; four brothers and two sisters.
Jerry had served in the United States Army.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1995 as a supervisor.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with and traveling with his family. He also enjoyed working on his 1929 Ford, collecting guns, Buffalo Bills Black Powder Club and took great pride in his yard.
Masonic services will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with funeral services following, officiated by Pastor John Plunkett. Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
His graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
