Rhonda Mae Hawley, age 62 of Homer passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, February 18, 2021 under the loving care of her husband. She was born August 28, 1958 in Middlesboro, KY the daughter of Clifford and Lillian (Robbins) Owens and they preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ada George.
Rhonda was united in marriage to Greg Hawley on September 30, 1983 in Hillsdale and he survives. She was very kind hearted with a sweet, caring soul who was always present and available for others and was a fierce protector of her family, especially her husband. Rhonda loved animals and had a soft spot for feeding and also rescuing wild animals. She enjoyed crafting, reading, watching movies, loved riding bicycles and also enjoyed walking. She was employed previously as a licensed cosmetologist as well as a pharmacy technician before taking time off from working to care for her sister, Ada before her passing.
Rhonda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Greg of 37 years, sister, Brenda (Sam) Allen and brother, James Douglas Owens “Doug”, nieces and nephews: Danny George, Tiffany Kelly (Trevor), Derek Allen, Travis Allen, James Owens, Christopher Owens, Jordan Owens and many extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate her life will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 with visitation beginning at 12PM until the time of her service at 1PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. She will be laid to rest directly following the services in Riverside Cemetery near her parents and sister.
