Angela Calderon Moguel, 91 years old, of Houston, Texas, passed away February 13, 2021. She was born in Manila, Philippines, on March 1, 1929. Angela was a retired Home Economics teacher from Arellano High School in Manila, a retired sales associate from Auchan Hypermarket in Houston, then Sears, Foley’s and finally, Macy’s, both in Pasadena, California, and in Houston.
She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas, and was a regular contributor to various religious missions.
Angela loved shopping and travel. Her jobs at different retail stores allowed her to know everything on sale and she never missed a sale. When she was able, Angela enjoyed annual vacations to locations around the world. She went on cruises, pilgrimages, vacation packages, all on her own.
She was a fantastic cook. Her desserts were sought after and requested by friends for a variety of occasions. People remembered and associated her with specific dishes and snacks that she prepared because they enjoyed her cooking so much.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Hermenegildo Moguel, Sr. and Matilde Calderon Moguel, and her brother Alberto Calderon Moguel.
She is survived by her brothers Hermenegildo Moguel, Jr. and wife, Milagros, and Leonardo Moguel and wife, Teresa, sisters Concepcion Tombo and Vicenta Moguel, daughters Mapaz Madrigal and Malou Marasigan, son-in-law Duke Marasigan, grandchildren Yasmin and husband, Franky Malaya, Nicole Marasigan and husband, Donny Nguyen, Bianca and husband, Arkie Marquez, Maurice Marasigan and Shantel Saludares, Nadine Madrigal, Rachel Madrigal, and Dylan Marasigan, and great grandchildren Blake and Zachary Marasigan, and Stella Marquez, as well as extended family and friends.
