Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Calhoun High School in Seadrift, Texas. He proudly served his country in The United States Navy where he learned his skills as a software developer. In 1969, he started his own software development company called Concept Omega and it now operates today as Thoroughbred Software International. John was responsible for developing a software language called IDOL. He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, talking politics, and watching westerns. He was also a member of American Legion Post 86.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alice Marie Johnson Logue; grandson, Ryan Schaeffer; and nephew, Mark Canada.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathleen Johnson; daughters, Dawn Creswell and Sheila Johnson; son, Scott LeBleu; and sister, Janece Sulephen.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Mike Parks will officiate. Interment will follow at White Fence Cemetery in Douglass.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott LeBleu, Rick Wilson, Peter Fernandez, Terry Morse, Jake LeBleu, and Johnny Hudson. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Creswell and Ross Gorman.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (cmtausa.org), American Diabetics Association, or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches.
