Felix was born to Arturo Avila Sr. and Elisa Acosta Avila in Los Angeles California on September 16, 1961. He grew up in Long Beach and enjoyed going to the beach. He loved playing sports specially football and basketball. He had a talent for drawing and working on lowrider cars. His family later then moved to El Paso.
Felix met his beloved wife of 39 years, Alicia, in El Paso and married on June 28th of 1983. They had their two oldest sons and as a job opportunity came, the Avila family made their move to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 1985 and later had their two youngest children. Felix was a longtime dedicated employee of the City of Watauga. In his free time he enjoyed watching his favorite team, The Cowboys, Gold Rush, Monkey Garage and other shows. He also loved going to church, cars and had a special passion for oldies and low riders. A loving husband, caring father, brother, son, and grandfather will be dearly missed.
Felix is survived by his wife, Alicia; children, Pedro Jesus Avila, Felix Avila Jr., Angel Adrian Avila, and Felicia Nicole Avila; grandchildren, Crystalina Renae Avila, Angelica Kristine Avila, Jesse Isaac Avila and Adam Valentin Gutierrez; his father, Arturo Avila Sr.; siblings, Petra Robledo, Patricia Gomez, Lourdes Morales, Arturo Avila Jr., and Elizabeth Ortegon. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Felix is preceded in death by his mother, Elisa Acosta.
