February 19, 2021 with her loving children by her side. Sheila was born on April 28, 1932 in Brooklyn,
NY to parents Tom and Therese Brown. Sheila was the loving wife of the late Jordan Greenfield
who predeceased her unexpectedly at the tender age of 44. Their love was a true love story and
knowing they are reunited brings tremendous comfort to the Greenfield and Brown families.
Devoted mother of son Brad Greenfield of Wellesley, her closest companion who brought her
deep joy as they shared movies and meals and cheered on the Patriots, daughter Marcie
Greenfield Simons (with husband Rich) of Pittsfield, who shares her family first, compassionate
heart, philanthropic spirit and faith and son Keith Greenfield (with wife Tina) of Dover, who
shares her love and gift for music, passion for working with kids and giving back.
Sheila shared a very close bond with her siblings, setting the bar for her own children. The loss
of her younger brother Bernie “Butch” Brown to cancer was devastating and she loved his wife
Gayle like a sister. She was extremely close to and cherished her time with her surviving
siblings, sister Marsha Hahn of Rockport and brother Ken Brown with wife June of Danvers
along with nieces and nephews.
A gifted pianist and vocalist, Sheila was voted “most musical” in her high school class and
shared her love of music with her children, adored grandchildren - Judith, Hannah Rose, Kadie,
Jordana, Stephanie and Jordan and great grandchildren - Eliav, Yadin, Amitai and Quinn. She
delighted in watching her grandchildren’s performances with Open Fields and Brave Arts and
wore Jordan’s lacrosse gear with pride.
At the Golda Meir House, Sheila was extremely proud to become a Bat Mitzvah at age 87! Afternoons at family BBQs with a pearl dog, chips and ice cream for dessert surrounded by those she loved most were some of her favorite moments. During the pandemic she learned to use FaceTime to share conversations and laughs with her family with the help of her loving aid, Uda Simpson.
Sheila believed deeply in giving back to her community and helping those in need, including
through her volunteer work with the PTA and METCO program, where she gained a third son,
Keith’s best friend Kevin Thomas of Dorchester.
She has given us countless lessons and memories for a lifetime. We are humbled and honored to
be her children and family. She will be in our hearts from this day on and forever more.
Services were held for immediate family on February 23. We will celebrate her life with
additional family and friends once it is safe to gather again.
