On the morning of Sunday, February 21, 2021, at the age of 81, Ellis Hull, Jr., a native of New Orleans and a veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away in Katy, Texas. A long-term resident of New Orleans, LA, Ellis was born on July 21, 1939 and later relocated to Katy, Texas. He was the oldest of six children to the late Ellis and Albertha Hull. Ellis loved God, his family, New Orleans, baseball, and the Saints.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Hull, Sr. and Albertha Tucker Hull, and three brothers, Samuel III, Cordell Sr. and Gerald. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans, Ellis, Jr. leaves to grieve, his siblings, Shelia and Andrew (Felicia); sisters-in-law, Judith (Samuel) and Anne (Cordell); and a host of cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Ellis valued his family and their history. He was knowledgeable about his ancestry and would always tell stories about past generations to the younger generation.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery Chapel, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., Metairie, LA, with a family gathering at 9:00 am, and a memorial service at 10:00 am, followed by interment at the same location.
