On February 21, 2021, Gerald Alan Remmy passed away peacefully at his home in Duluth GA at the age of 78. He was a very proud and supportive father and grandfather. He taught his two sons the importance of honesty, hard work, and treating others with love. Gerald was full of life and liked to make others smile. He treasured time with family and friends, golfing, playing cards, hunting, fishing, and the occasional cigar. He liked watching sports, especially the Cleveland Browns.
Gerald was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rita A. Remmy. They met in Akron OH and together their life journey took them to Missouri, Ohio, New York, and Georgia.
Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His professional career included employment at BFGoodrich and various management positions at Kenner Products, Fisher-Price, and Evenflo.
He is survived by his son, Scott (Danielle) Remmy of Cary NC, son, Greg (Lisa) Remmy of Marietta GA, and five grandchildren, Callie, Nathan, Abby, Brittney, and Aidan Remmy.
Gerald was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Remmy of Norton OH and Bruce Remmy of Cuyahoga Falls OH, and is survived his sister, Carolyn Rayke of Hemet CA, brother-in-law, David (Jeanne) Culver of Atlanta GA, sister-in-law, Jeanne Marquard of Columbus OH, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Gerald’s funeral mass will be held later in 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
