


Dear Terry Jo,

I'm very sorry to read of Buzzy's passing.

 From the beginning, you and Buzzy were so "crazy in love" and it stayed that way. The two of you showed the best example of what true love and family should be.

Robin, Stacy and Stephanie were blessed to have you as parents as much as you were blessed to have your three precious daughters.

I enjoyed looking through your family photos on this site. So many beautiful grandchildren (and grandchildren?) to love!

Please give Robin and Stephanie my love and condolences.

You will never be alone. As you have already discovered, Buzzy is right there with you.

Please tell Debbie I said hello.

Dear Smith family,
Glenn and I want to extend our sympathies for your great loss. We thought a lot of Buzzy and will miss him. From the second we met him, we felt like friends. From the minute we met him, we felt like family. He had that gift of making a person feel welcome.  His humor and quick wit were infectious. He even laughed at his own jokes as much as we did. LOL

Our faith tell us that he is in a better place surrounded by those he loved and those who loved him. He is telling jokes and making any needed repairs because that’s what he did. 

We are better for knowing Buzzy. Love you all!

Dear Buzzy Co-Father, Co-Father In Law, Co-Grand Father, and Co-Great Grandfather of the Stephanie and Brian Beckmann family, and fellow searcher for the one eyed dot.

     You will always be remembered as the family man you were.  You, like the two of us, could not get enough time with our families. God blessed you, like us, with such great and loving family. They will miss you terribly.

     You were also such a loyal friend. You would use the talents that you were given to help anyone lucky enough to be your friend, You always responded cheerfully even when you heard "Hey Buzzy come here, you are not going to believe this".  And I was lucky enough to get my tools back even though I didn't have my name on them.

     When our Friday Night Dinner Group gets back together you will always be there. Until we see you again Goodbye Good Friend.

From the first moment I met Buzzy and Terry I was treated with such kindness and acceptance, like I had always been an admired member of the family.   That's just how they are with everyone.  Buzzy was especially welcoming, most likely excited about adding another man (with Brian already in the fold) to the family  and hopefully shifting the balance of power from the women to the men.  On this he failed.  Some challenges are just too much to overcome.  
Faith and family were the most important foundations of Buzz's life.  Nothing else was a close second.  He lived his life as Christ like as any sinful person could.  Kindness and generous and friendliness to all.  Buzzy never met a stranger, they were just friends he hadn't met yet.  As far as family, if family wasn't included then you could count him out.   He loved being with his family and made every effort to be a part of each members life.   He was willing to do anything for his family and never expected anything in return.  The joy of helping was payment enough.  For this I'm especially grateful, as I would struggle to change a light bulb without his help.  I can only imagine what he thought sometimes as he performed some task that he could do as a 10 year old yet I was clueless about.  But he would patiently go about the job and thankfully over the many years of watching him work I have picked up a small percentage of his skillset.  That was the thing about Buzzy, he wouldn't tell you how to do something, he would show you.  He showed how to be a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a friend.   I watched and learned.  
Buzzy was so loved by Terry, Robin, Stephanie, his grandkids, and Brian and I that his loss will take long to recover from.  He was a major part of our lives, our experiences.  Family get-togethers and vacations haven't been the same.  There is a void in every occasion.   How great is a person to leave that kind of loss.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy Lynn Smith, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years the former Terry Jo Kinberger Smith; daughters, Robin DeTalente (Frank), and Stephanie Beckmann (Brian); a sister, Gaynell Zirnheld (Lenny); 6-grandchildren, Alexandria (Ryan), Emily (Everett), Hunter, Spencer, Ethan, and Olivia and 3 great grandchildren, Emberly, Madeleine, and Everson and many nieces and nephews.
