Celebration of Life Service for Danny K. Seago 76 is set for 3:00 pm Sunday at McPeters Funeral Directors with Bro. Ray Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Danny passed away peacefully on Thursday February 25, 2021. As always at his side were his loving wife, children and grandchildren, whom he loved and cared so much for. Born August 16, 1944 in Alcorn County, MS. to the late Lawrence and Frances Seago, he spent the majority of his life in Alcorn County. After graduating from Kossuth High School in 1962, Mr. Seago eventually entered the construction business where he built hundreds of high quality homes in the area for the people of Alcorn County and did so with prices that made the homes blessing as opposed to burdens.
In 1981 Danny and his wife purchased the E. P. Parker General Merchandise from the late Elmer Parker who was a relative. After changing the name to Kossuth Hardeware, the sign company made a mistake on the sign, the store became a staple in the community. There one could get a bologna sandwich anytime of the day, find domino game that might last all day or go coon hunting that night and you could pick up your mail while you were there. The Seago children along with many others, were practically raised there. Friendships, relationships and wonderful memories still exist today from the years in “the Store”. Danny enjoyed all things outside including hunting, riding the tractor and especially, tending to his cows which he referred to as his "babies". Later in life, Mr. Seago grew even prouder of his children, who along with their spouses, have served in educational or medical fields for a combined 160 years. He thoroughly enjoyed following the activities of all the grandchildren and loved seeing their pictures and names in the newspaper.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry and Larry Seago; nephews, Chris and Greg Seago.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Wanda Seago; daughter, Lisa Brown (Scotty); sons, Bo Seago (Holly), Pete Seago (Amanda), T J Seago (Hayley); brother, Charles Seago; grandchildren, Col Cook, Alli Seago, Brock Seago, Hannah Seago, Brooks Seago, Alannah Seago, Cannon Seago, Waverly Seago and Candace Brown; host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 to service time.
Mask and social distance guide lines will be in place.
