Our mother’s life began on Dec 3rd, 1944 in a slow town of Clear Springs, Texas. She was raised in Hermleigh, TX where in 1963 she graduated from Hermleigh High School and went on to attended Brown Nursing School where she received her LVN.
It was in 1969 she was introduced to the love of her life Abel Galaviz by her Tio Frank Herrera in Seguin, Texas. They then married on May 5, 1974. One year later she gave birth to her first child Victoria Galaviz and gave birth to her second child Vicente Galaviz in 1980. She traveled the world as an Air Force wife and volunteered at every duty station with the base family services.
She worked as an LVN in private practices and retired from Travis County Corrections in 2000. She was given a second chance at life after receiving a liver transplant and was able to witness the birth of her two granddaughters Alexandria Lawhon and Arianna Galaviz. She loved them even more than her beloved Diet Coke.
She devoted her life to the needs and the happiness of her family and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and talking to her beloved sister Anita Rios. On March 10, 2021, the world became a lesser place, and an angel received her wings.
She is survived by: Her husband Abel Galaviz, her daughter. Victoria and husband Daniel Lawhon, her son, Vicente Galaviz, and Granddaughters, Alexandria Lawhon and Arianna Galaviz.
