She was born on January 26, 1930 in her grandparent’s home in rural Oklahoma. Wilma grew up there and in nearby Eldorado. As a girl she made her profession of faith in Jesus Christ. She was baptized along with her brother Edwin. It was her faith in Jesus that characterized her life and influenced those who knew her. She attended schools in Eldorado, Ok, alongside her lifelong friend Geneva Kirkpatrick. In Earth, Texas in 1948 she met T.C. Barlow. They soon married on July 31. Amarillo became their home, where they lived and loved and raised three children. Wilma worked as a secretary at Northwest Texas School of Nursing, and she retired after many years of work at Pantex. She was a longtime member of South Lawn Baptist Church and a beloved member of her ladies bible study group.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents William Bynum and Margaretta Eagle, her husband Thomas Clark Barlow, brother Edwin and sister-in-law Faye Bynum, and son-in-law Sam Burke.
She is survived by her daughters; Sherry Ann Burke, and Teresa Jean Anderson and husband Dennis, her son;Timothy Clark Barlow, one brother; Glenn Eagle,5 grandchildren; Karla and husband Craig Hodges, Thomas Reagan, Ernie Reagan, Dusty and wife Whitney Stockard, and Misty Houdashell ,12 great-grandchildren; Tyson, Amber, Blake, Brooke, Morgan, Makayla, Ernest, Brennan, Carly, Chloe, Jordyn, and Beck 8 great-great-grandchildren; Zoey, Tristen, Skylar, Zaleigh, Riley, Ariel, Finley, and one on the way.
Wilma will be missed by both family and friends.
