She was born in Amarilo, TX on December 08, 1956 to the late Charles Edward Whitesides and Vergie Howard Nosil. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Edwin Whitesides.
Kim had college degrees in Fine Arts from Wilkes Community College and from Appalachian State University. She was a dental assistant for most of her career and she enjoyed being a substitute teacher for Caldwell County Schools. She loved her community work for Promises of Hope and Hope Studios.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Philip Aaron Mattheis of the home, one son, Jeremy Neil Williams and wife Marcia of Jacksonville, Florida, two daughters, Kathrine Sidney Greene and husband Ben of North Wilkesboro and Cassandra Issabella Mattheis of Lenoir.
Also left to cherish her memory are three grandsons, Austin, Wyatt and Jordan.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial in Kim's honor be made to Promises of Hope in Granite Falls or Pet Partners of Lenoir.
