William M. “Bill” Hill, Jr., 82, of Pelham, Alabama, went to be with his Lord on March 28, 2021. He was born to Marion and Alice Hill on January 4, 1939 in Montgomery, Alabama. Bill Hill graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in electrical engineering. Later he obtained a Doctorate of Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was married to Frances A. Guthrie (Fran) on July 10, 1965.
Bill spent his life loving God and loving people. He had a heart for those who were brokenhearted as he understood his own brokenness and need of the Savior. He enjoyed ministering to others, wood working, yard work, fishing, and Alabama football. He is survived by his wife Frances Hill and his children Wendy Coats (Bobby), Chris Hill (Allison), and Leslie Harwell (Patrick). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Christopher Coats, Ashlyn Coats West, Andrew Hill, Carter Hill, Graham Hill, Wyatt Hill, Madelyn Harwell, Brooks Harwell, Blake Harwell, and Cooper Harwell. He is also survived by his brother Jimmy Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Alice Hill and his brother, Charlie Hill. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 9am to 10am, with the Celebration Service beginning at 10am. Private burial service will follow at Alabama National cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
