He was born May 14, 1928, in Lexington, Ohio, to parents John M. and Christine K. (Weber) Angebrandt. Arnold grew up in Rootstown, Ohio where he eventually met his wife Martha Ulm. They were married on October 26, 1952, and began raising their family in Mogadore, Ohio. Sadly, Martha passed away February 7, 2021, and they are now reunited.
Arnold retired as a foreman for Firestone Tire & Rubber on June 30, 1981, after 30 years of service. He was a hard worker, who also worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and helping others, leading Arnold to become the family handyman. Arnold served his country as a member of the Ohio National Guard for six years and loved taking nature walks with his dogs.
Arnold is survived by his daughters: Becky (Eric) Hilston and Katherine Reedy, his granddaughter Jennifer Hilston, as well as generations of loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Arnold was preceded in death by his siblings: John E. Angebrandt, Elizabeth Angebrandt, Eleonore McLaughlin, Gerhardt E. Angebrandt, and Christine G. Abshire.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, April 1, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Chaplain Bill Wisniewski at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield. All guests must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
