Oveda S. Mantooth was born May 27, 1926 in Altha, FL to George F. and Mary I Stone. She found love and happiness with US Army Veteran James E. Mantooth, who preceded her death in 2006. They were married for 51 years. She passed away peacefully at the age of 94.
Oveda’s passion in life was to take care of others. Her life was filled with joy, helping others in need and as a mother to many. She loved to dance, cook, and bring the family together for gatherings. She had a spirit that resonates with so many others. No matter where she went, she always carried herself with grace and class. Not to mention plenty of stories to share.
She worked most of her adult career for the State of Florida, Office of Insurance. After retirement, she enjoyed making friends and greeting attendees at the box office of the Leon County Civic Center.
Oveda is survived by her great nephew Hans “Beau” and (Daryllen) Stone, great-great nephews Dylan and Landon Stone, nieces Kathy Revell and (Dennis), Georgia and (Marvin) Rice, and nephews Richard Stone, James Stone, Mark and (Penny) Stone, Ted and (Cindy) Stone and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
