Mildred Rayburn Bishop, of Coppell, Texas, passed from this life into God’s presence on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the age 96. She was born and raised in Marion County, Mississippi and studied nursing at Pearl River Community College. Ms. Bishop continued her education at Northwestern State University of Louisiana in Natchitoches where she earned a Master’s Degree in nursing. Before moving to Coppell three years ago, she lived in Shreveport, Louisiana for 50 years where she worked many years at Brentwood Hospital. Ms. Bishop was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for her sweet, outgoing personality. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Georgia Mae Rawls; a sister, Myra Nell Stringer; a daughter, Norma Kay Martin; and her husband, Kary Rayburn. Ms. Bishop is survived by her son, John Kent Rayburn and his wife, Ann; two brothers, George Rawls and wife, Peggy and Gerald Rawls and wife, Hazel; a granddaughter, Melissa Rayburn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. There will be a graveside service for Ms. Bishop, officiated by Reverend Darel Daniels, at 1:30pm on Thursday, April 1, 2021 in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, Mississippi.
