Bert Leslie “Les” Lordahl, III, (71), of Jacksonville, FL, passed away unexpectantly on Thursday, April 1, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, GA, on August 17, 1949, to Bettie Ann Lordahl (Smith) and Bert Leslie Lordahl, Jr. Les graduated from Englewood High School in Jacksonville, FL. He married Nancy Marie Box on April 17, 1969. Les was raised in the family HVAC business alongside his father. He became a mechanical contractor, and in 1980 opened his own business, Les’ Heat and Air Conditioning Services, Inc. His business motto was, “Why pay more when you can pay Les.” He was a member of NE Florida Builders Association, Jacksonville Air Conditioning and Contractors Association, and an inaugural/annual ticket holder of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also loved his family, golf, gambling trips to Biloxi and Tampa, playing softball, gardening and had a passion for cooking. He was a great cook, and especially liked spicy foods that included various hot peppers. He also enjoyed many trips to the dog track in prior years with his father-in-law, Ken Box, and lovingly cared for his mother-in-law, Marie Box, both of whom also pre-deceased him.
Les was a kind, loving and devoted husband to Nancy, and a dedicated family man to his children and grandchildren. He was someone who could be depended upon, and was much loved by his family and many friends. He is remembered as always having a smile on his face and being one who brightened the room with his boisterous personality and sense of humor. He was the life of any gathering, and his presence is sorely missed.
Les was preceded in death by his mother and father (Bettie and Bert Lordahl), and his youngest son (Shane Edward Lordahl). Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Nancy Lordahl; his oldest son, Bert Leslie Lordahl, IV; his grandson, Bert Leslie Lordahl, V; his granddaughter, Karli Nicole Lordahl; his brothers, Mark Douglas Lordahl and John Bruce Lordahl; his sister, Joy Ann Lordahl (Josie); his nephews, Joshua Lee Lordahl (Mackenzie), and Bradley Allen Lordahl; his niece, Lyndsie Ann Lordahl; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives, and many great friends.
