St. Louis Missouri. His long battle with cancer and other serious health issues showed the true fight and heart that he possessed. His strong love for his wife, family, and friends helped him throughout the years-long battle. Richard was surrounded by what mattered most to him when he decided to end the fight with cancer. Richard will always be remembered for his strength and love he showed to his family, along with the generosity he gave to anyone he met.
While Freida and Richard met many years ago over the love of a car, it developed into a foundation of love and friendship that would last nearly a half a century. Together they raised three beautiful children; Angela (Tim) Hallquist, Richard G. (Misty Wells) Lesch, and Eric (Amy) Lesch. Together they were blessed with five grandchildren Brianna, Abigail, Joshua Hallquist, Savanah, and Gracelyn Lesch.
Richard was a man who cared for everyone he met and would help out in any way he could. He loved camping and spending his off time with family and friends. He loved watching his deer in Jefferson Barracks Park alongside his wife. He would share stories with everyone he came across and enjoyed the long conversation that took place as a result. He was never shy on words and would not back down from hard work. He will always be remember as a loving husband to his wife Freida of 48 years, a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to so many.
While we all know life can not be perfect, Richard has taught many of us lessons in life. His love was never ending and his generosity was given without question, His compassion for the people around him was infectious and will be missed by many.
In honor of Richard, a celebration of life will be held in the near future, details will be provided here along with announcements on Facebook when the arrangements are finalized. Thank you all and we ask for your support while we honor our late fathers wishes.
