Linda was preceded in death by her parents John and Edith Fox of Tyler, Texas, brother J.B. Fox, Jr and sister Roberta Ann Fox. She is survived by her best friend and husband William (Bill), brothers Bill and Gordon Fox of the Dallas area; stepdaughter Morgan Massie and her husband Don of Reno, NV, daughter Amy Norton and her husband Jim of Salina, KS and their children and grandchildren.
She graduated from Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, LA and attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeast Louisiana University (NLU) in Monroe, LA. She also went to graduate school at NLU, as well as earned a teaching certificate in secondary education from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA.
Linda lived in Arlington for 30 years and was active in her lovely neighborhood through the Wimbledon Garden Club and had volunteered since 2012 at Open Arms Health Clinic, a free health clinic on Little Rd in Arlington. She was a member of St. John the Apostle United Methodist Church on Old Mansfield Rd in Arlington. She retired after 34 years of public service from the Social Security Administration in 2010. She felt very blessed to have made so many wonderful and caring friends through all of the above organizations.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas. Her ashes will be dispersed at a later date at St. John’s Episcopal Church in McLean, VA, where her husband and his family were long time members and where she and Bill were married in 1987. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Open Arms Health Clinic.
