Anne Jacquelyne Hazelwood, age 81, of St. Johns, Florida passed away on April 1, 2021 due to complications from a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born to Jack G. and Mary Burns on December 4, 1939 in Nashville, Tennessee. Anne graduated from Cumberland High School (Bordeaux) in 1957 and was married June 1st of that year to her “Eugene”. She accompanied him to Hawaii as an Air Force Wife. Anne supported Eugene throughout his long career in the military, and made loving homes in Germany, England and various state-side locations. She began her career in Childcare at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, culminating as a District Manager of Kindercare in Florida before retirement. Throughout her life, she was a strong independent woman. She loved loud music, Coca-cola, poodles, and fun. She was always, unapologetically, herself.
Anne is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Eugene Hazelwood, two children; William E. Hazelwood Jr. (Cindy) and Eugenia A. Schwemmer (Dan), a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care given by Saints Care Center of Jacksonville and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
Anne will be interred at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Cemetery of Jacksonville, after a private Graveside Service at 11am, on Monday, April 12th.
