Patrick A. Galbraith, Sr. age 85 of Melbourne, FL passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Mio, Michigan and lived most of his younger life in Michigan where he met and married his wife.
In 1967 he moved his family to Melbourne, Florida and began his career at the Kennedy Space Center as an Electrical Engineer. He retired from Lockheed in February of 2003. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the Shrine.
He was generous and kind, he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a patient teacher to his children and grandchildren and had a positive influence on many young men through his management and coaching of Little League baseball. Lucky in love, he married his childhood love and with her raised four children. After her death he found love again and has shared the last 17 happy years with his sweetheart and partner, Zella Woodruff.
He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Jean Cox; his parents (Russell Galbraith and Opal Shann), his brothers (Donald, Theodore, Joseph, Gail) his sons-in-law, Peter Diamond and Ricky K. McCray.
He is survived by his partner, Zella Woodruff; his children, Janine McCray (Ricky K.), Patrick Galbraith, Jr., Robin Diamond (Peter), James D. Galbraith, Debra Lanum (Michael), Tamara Jones (Jeff Cross); his grandchildren, Paul Diamond (Holly), Melissa McCray Lamb (James Penfield), Ashley Adams (Neil), Breanna Diamond, Thomas E. Jones, Greg Jones and Casey Lanum; his great-grandchildren, Saydra McDermott (Raymond), Elijah Lamb, Dylan Diamond, Matthew Lamb, Carsen Adams, Emma Lamb, Callie Adams; his sister, Patricia Greenshields (Richard); sisters-in-law Delpha Christman (Harvey) and Hope Fouste (Larry); and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours with the family will be held in the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2PM and will be followed by a burial service at 3PM.
