July 7, 1948 - March 31, 2021
Sonny Horner was born in 1948 and grew up in Millersville, Tennessee. As a child he developed a love for working on cars and worked as an auto-diesel mechanic in Millersville most of his life. He was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War era and served in HAWK Missile Defense, being Honorably Discharged after 6 years. He loved his time in the Army, and was a proud American Veteran. Sonny loved nature and exploring the outdoors, spending many years camping, hiking, repelling, and was active in cave exploration and cave/pit rescue. He loved traveling off the beaten path on weekend road trips, as well as vacationing in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Gulf Shores, Alabama. He loved old hot rods, faithfully attending Spring and Fall Rod Runs in Gatlinburg for many decades. He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, and friend to many, and would often drop whatever he was doing to help someone in need. Sonny's deepest loves were his wife and family, and his faith in Christ.
