Born in New Bedford, she was a lifetime resident and started her working career at 16 at the Waldorf restaurant in downtown New Bedford, she was the Head of Savings at the Merchants Bank of New Bedford, worked as a Legislative Aide, also at the Sheriff’s Department and was the Good Will Ambassador at Gloria and Company in Fairhaven. Ressy enjoyed everything coffee, traveling around the world, and singing! She was most proud of being a Notary Republic, a Deputy Sheriff and helping others. Family was very important. Where she didn’t have children, her nieces, nephews and godchildren were loved as her own. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her Godchildren, Gloria Perperas (aka Gogi) and her husband Chris of Mattapoisett, and Ryan Perperas and his wife Tammy of Fairhaven, their daughter Kristen and son Justin. A nephew, Tony Fajao Jr. and his wife Nonie of Centerville, their daughter Erin and her husband Matt and their children Rowan and Matthew. Her niece, Christine Kelley and her husband David, of Marlboro, and their daughter Reema, and Joyce Brown and her husband Royall of Florida, and their son Royce and wife Carol and his son Connor.
Ressy was the sister of the late Irene Oliviera Fajao, Mary Estrella Fajao, Manny Oliviera Fajao and Antoine Oliviera Fajao.
